Step-by-Step Guide

Follow these steps to start competing in 5xFaction.

Step 1: Connect Your Wallet

1. Navigate to 5xFaction App

2. Click "Connect Wallet" in the navigation bar

3. Select your preferred wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase, etc.)

4. Approve the connection request

5. Ensure you're on Arbitrum Sepolia network

Step 2: Get Test USDC

Since this is testnet, you'll need mock USDC:

1. Go to the Arena page

2. Find the "Mint USDC" button

3. Enter amount (e.g., 1000)

4. Click Mint and confirm transaction

5. Wait for confirmation

Note: This mints test tokens only. No real value.

Step 3: Approve USDC

Before staking, you must approve the contract to spend your USDC:

1. Enter the amount you want to stake

2. Click "Approve" button

3. Confirm the approval transaction

4. Wait for confirmation

Step 4: Choose Your Faction

Study the five factions and their relationships:

Consider:

• Current TVL distribution

• Which faction has the best score potential

• Time remaining in deposit phase (2 days max)

Step 5: Stake Your USDC

1. Select your chosen faction (click the faction card)

2. Enter stake amount

3. Click "Stake" button

4. Confirm the transaction

5. Wait for confirmation

Step 6: Monitor the Game

During the 7-day epoch:

Deposit Phase (Days 1-2)

• Watch TVL changes across all factions

• Track your faction's score in real-time

• Add more stake if needed

• Strategize based on other players' moves

Lock Phase (Days 3-7)

• Strategy is locked

• Yield is being generated

• Monitor final standings

• Prepare for next epoch

Step 7: Claim Yield (If You Win)

If your faction wins the epoch:

1. Wait for epoch to end (Day 7)

2. clearCanvas() is called (by anyone)

3. Your yield is automatically available

4. Claim via the Portfolio page

Step 8: Withdraw Anytime

Your principal is always safe:

1. Go to Arena or Portfolio

2. Click "Withdraw"

3. Enter amount (or max)

4. Confirm transaction

5. USDC returned to your wallet

Common Issues

Issue	Solution
Transaction fails	Check gas, network, and balance
Can't stake	Ensure you've approved USDC first
Can't stake	Ensure you're in deposit phase (Days 1-2)
Wrong network	Switch to Arbitrum Sepolia
No USDC	Use the Mint function
